Kennedy Gold Mine Tours

Kennedy Gold MineThe Kennedy Mine is open every Saturday, Sunday and Holiday, 10 AM to 3 PM, March through October. FREE Admission, fee for guided tours. Group Guided tours are available, by reservation, all year. Guided Tours are recommended for an interesting, in-depth, and educational tour of the grounds [about 1.5 hours]. You may, if you wish, purchase a self-guided tour book in our gift shop and wander on your own. Some prefer to bring a picnic lunch and just soak in the ambiance of this historic spot. Serbian Christmas

St Sava ChurchCelebrated 13 days after Dec. 25th...for over 100 years our Serbian-American population has marked this day with a volley of rifle shots to announce that Christ is born in front of the National Hotel, St. Sava's Church on North Main St., and St. Sava's Mission on Broadway. Know that you are safe as the rifles are not loaded with live rounds. It's your neighbor celebrating and keeping alive the rich traditions of the old country.

Home to Holmes Hounds literary society and the Baker Street Players, Sherlockian plays, Dinner Mystery Theatre, and a variety of Afternoon Tea events are performed throughout the year.

Dandelion Days

Downtown Jackson becomes an outdoor bazaar and flea market featuring antiques and collectibles, arts and crafts, food, live music, Beer Garden, kids carnival, Pancake Breakfast and a 5K run. On the Saturday and Sunday closest to St. Patrick’s Day. Free shuttle bus service to free parking can be found at the Amador Transit website.


Kit Carson Mountain Men Days of 49 Wagon Train

On the last weekend in April, an authentic wagon train of horse-drawn wagons and pioneer re-enactors will pull into Jackson after a journey through Amador County, with stops at the Amador County Fairgrounds (Plymouth), Italian Picnic Grounds (Sutter Creek) and Laughton Ranch (Jackson). Bring the whole family to Main Street, Jackson for a Wagon Train and Kiddies Parade. After the parade, stick around Main Street and enjoy music, Gold Rush-era activities and more -- All events free. Motherlode Cruise Car Show

car show by Kam MerzlakIt's the Motherlode Cruise on Main Street, Jackson, third Saturday in May, 10 am to 3 pm. The Motherlode Cruise car show will take you back in time with hundreds of vintage cars, from Model Ts to muscle cars. Stroll down Main Street to enjoy the cars, fine arts and crafts for sale by local artists and Main Street’s unique shops and eateries, live music and beer garden.  It’s free fun for the whole family in historic Jackson! Main Street Theatre Works

Gem & Craft Show at Kennedy Mine

Amador Gem & Mineral Society holds their show the first weekend in May at the Kennedy Gold Mine, Hwys 49/88 in Jackson, CA.  10 am-4 pm. Rocks, slabs, handcrafted jewelry, beads, gemstones and other hand crafted items. FREE admission, tour of Historic Kennedy Mine for a small fee.

3rd of July Celebration

Annual celebration of our nation's birthday, sponsored by the Jackson Lion's Club. The event takes place on the 3rd of July each year and is held with traditional family fun, food, and music, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display to be observed from Detert Park after dark.







Bark In The Park!

bark_in_the_parkOn the last Saturday of September bring your dogs to Detert Park in Jackson, 8:30 am-1:00 pm. Mutt Strut, dog games, Sheriff K-9 demo, speed zone, vendors, food and more! Bring your dog and join in the fun! Advance registration $20 Day of event $25 Seniors & military members $18. All proceeds benefit A-PAL adoption, spay and neuter programs. Registration Begins at 8:00 am, Mutt Strut Begins at 9:00 am.





Jackson Lions Club Halloween Parade

halloween_paradeA kids’ costume parade down Main Street presented by the Jackson Lion's Club annually on October 31st. Line up starts at 5 pm for costume judging, parade at 5:30, and hot dogs and goody bags for everyone at the Jackson Civic Center at the end of the parade.









Veterans Day Parade 


Every November 11, 10 am on Main Street, Jackson.  All veterans welcome to participate. Be sure to sign up and join the American Legion Post 108 Veterans Day Parade.
