City Manager

The City of Jackson, CA is seeking a City Manager & invites qualified applicants to consider this unique opportunity.

Due to retirement of the City Manager, the City of Jackson, CA (pop. 4651) located 48 miles northeast of Sacramento, is seeking a city manager. Jackson is a full service community and the county seat of Amador County. Located in “Gold Country,” Jackson boasts a thriving nationally registered historic downtown which attracts visitors from throughout California and the nation. Jackson has a strong sense of community and is a pleasant area to live and work. The ideal City Manager will be a confident collaborative manager who effectively delegates to and empowers a small close knit staff while making staff accountable. Ideal candidate will place a high value on communication with Council, staff and the community. Key abilities identified by City Council include being a strategic thinker and a team builder, who earns trust through integrity and credibility. Strong budgeting and financial skills are a must. Ability to identify, prioritize and manage infrastructure projects is highly desired.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or closely related field as well as five years of municipal service, preferably in or on a city management track, with minimum of three years of direct supervisory experience of personnel. Masters degree in Public Administration is highly desirable. Salary hiring range is up to $110,000..   • Uniforms and cleaning provided by the Police Department
