The Jackson Planning Commission is a five member advisory commission
appointed by the City Council. Members serve two year terms, and
appoint a chairman and vice-chairman on an annual basis.
Planning Commission meetings are held on the third Monday of each
month at 6:30 P.M in the Council Chambers.
The Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing both current and long range planning issues for the City. Current planning includes reviews of use permits, variances, sign exception requests, and major project reviews. Long range planning consists mainly of evaluating and updating the seven elements of the City's General Plan, reviewing the annual resource allocation plan submittals and other development policies. Copies of these documents can be found on the General Plan and Planning Information page.
Questions regarding planning matters may be directed to the City Planner.
